Pay attention, now

It's so fucking sad that this kind of thing still needs to be published.

But it does, perhaps now more than ever. So read it. Figure out how you're complicit. And then ACT UP.

Thanks to Kiki, who is turning 30! on Saturday (bettah than evah, baby), for the link.

I agree, Sov--we can all do more, and
he's such an inspiration, no? I aim to be such a hellraiser in my seventies, too. But we've got to start now. . . .

From oognwoog, who comments via email:

That is just heartbreaking. I don't uderstand it either. I was so happy for the gay community when they started the marriages in San Francisco. What a moment! They started a petition in Chicago to have gay marriage and I believe Dailey was for it (John and I signed it in our old neighborhood when the San Francisco thing was happening). And yes, it's all hate. Anytime anyone picks on anyone for what they look like, how they act, it is an act of hate. And for Christians, who preach tolerance, it is the height of hypocrisy. And that crap about love the sinner, hate the sin. Excuse me? But how you can love someone who you treat so shabbily? I think we need a major revolution. I don't see that the Dems are going to be any better than the Repubs. The wheels of justice are falling off the truck that we are all riding in.
